AMETHYST:  Our team will provide 3 pre-birth appointments, labour support for pain management, emotional support, family + partner support, relaxation, body + mind connection, body + mind + baby connection.

VISIT BREAKDOWN—

 

 PRENATAL

​

 3 x 60 min appointments: Discuss expectations, labouring practice, baby prep, labour/home birth and hospital birth education, acupressure, hand massage and breathing techniques and rebozo. Discuss birth preferences and expectations, prep space for baby and pack essentials.

​

 LABOUR

 

Your doula will join you midway through early labour, when contractions are less than 20 mins apart, as you transition from early to active labour (but is available to you in the early stages by text or video/phone call. Your doula will  guide you and your support person(s) through various ancestral techniques to encourage harmonious passage of your baby.

​

The labour stations practiced in the prenatal appointments will be utilized, the rebozo techniques will be used for tension relief, visualization, acupressure and massage, shower and bath will also be introduced. Basically anything and everything in our handy doula bag will be whipped out to assist you in whatever ways provide comfort and support as you (as the Aztecs would say) transition into a warrior and win the battle to bring forth your Jewel Child.

 POSTPARTUM 

​

1 x up to 90 min appointments:  Your doula will remain with you for 30 - 90 mins post birth to make sure you and baby are comfortable, latching and bonding and settling in to your golden hours that lay ahead.

FULL SPECTRUM SERVICES

 RUBY: Fertility prep, conception, pregnancy and postpartum support throughout   the entire journey, typically 12 -18 months of doula/client togetherness, bonding   and sisterhood. Including but not limited to the Full Spectrum package 2. Your   doula will develop and grow her treatment plan with you, tailored specifically to   your needs during your sacred journey.

FAQs

How will we know what stage of labour it is? During one of your prenatal appointments we will provide you with a contraction chart that will help you understand where you are in your labour. But if you're unsure DO NOT hesitate to call!

Can I only talk to my doula during appointments? 
You can text or email your doula whenever you need her during your pregnancy. Your communication is not limited to your 3 prenatal appointments. We just kindly ask that phone calls are left to when you begin labour, in case we are attending to other clients. This way it helps to ensure that all clients receive the same respect for their time. Unless of course you really feel a call is necessary.
 
What do I do if I need to call? 
If you really need to talk on the phone, kindly send a text message or email first with your request and we will contact you. We will probably reply in the same way you contacted us first, and arrange a call from there.

How do I reserve my delivery date? 
Your estimated delivery date is reserved once your downpayment is received. See our pricing page (link above) for details.

What happens if my baby is born preterm? 
We will continue to support you, baby and family just the same. A preterm delivery can be a very emotionally and physically draining time. Shani has first hand experience with preterm birth and will be able to guide and support you in the ways that are most beneficial for you.
